It’s been a year. A year of dreaming, funding, and building for the Museum of Surrey. The newly refreshed building was buzzing with excitement from all attending by the animatronic dinosaurs and live entertainment at the Grand Opening on Saturday. The smiles on the staff were beaming from ear to ear as they took it all in. In particular, one who shared with me his heart and passion for seeing the Museum thrive once again.
It’s time to get excited, folks! Take your kids back in time to the prehistoric era. Let them fill their imagination and senses by touching fossils of skulls, bones, eggs, skin, and even feathers.
Last time we visited the Museum of Surrey was last year back in April. We loved it then and couldn’t have been more pleased with what we saw on Saturday. I will be getting out my trusty homeschooling calendar and penciling in another visit as soon as possible! Who’s joining me? Admission is free!
Our kids had a fantastic time taking in all the festivities of the opening. I even got in on the action and boogied on down with Bobs and Lolo. One of my favorite parts of the day, besides watching my kids faces, was meeting a few Instagram friends! It was awesome to finally meet face to face! Thank you to those who came up and said hi!
Museum of Surrey is located at 17710 56a Ave, Surrey. Hours of operation are Wednesday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5:30pm
Sunday from 12pm to 5pm and Monday and Tuesday – closed
Apart from the outstanding new exhibit Dinosaurs Unearthed, they still have an unbelievable Kids Zone that we visited last year. Free wifi and a new café opening up later this season. A perfect place to let the kids learn by playing while you sip on a cup of joe.
I would love to know in the comments if you attended on Saturday and your thoughts or if you will be planning a visit soon?
