About a month ago I decided that it was time to make my mornings more intentional. I needed more of the light of Jesus and less of what the world was telling me. Scripture always helps to put my life into perspective but having quite bible time is not a reality at this stage. I’ve tried, but I’m constantly interrupted, and I can’t get into it. I thought that an app would be just the thing that could help.I am sure many of you have heard of the app YouVersion but did you know that you can choose daily, weekly, and even monthly devotional plans? On top of that, they have daily scripture verses as well.
Since I was loving the app I decided to share. I started posting highlights from some of my plans in my Instastories. Almost every week I get messages asking which app I am using. Most are very surprised that you can pick devotional plans with YouVersion. The topics are pretty much endless.
The one plan that I am absolutely loving is the Overwhelmed By My Blessings: Encouragement For Moms. It is a 10 part series and I am on part 4. Each day there is a very relatable devotional along with scripture passages to meditate on that corresponds with the devotional. This is my favorite part. I am a total highlighter in my bible so when I post to Instastories I can underline and highlight the parts that speak out to me. It helps me to remember and absorb what I am reading.
I was a little worried that those that don’t share my faith would feel annoyed at my postings but then I remembered that like anything, if you don’t like it you are able to just scroll through. I actually have received nothing but a positive reinforcement on the matter. Some even come to my stories knowing it will be there.
Jesus calls us to shine our light and this is just my little way of doing so.
Starting my mornings off right
Ever since starting my mornings off with these daily scripture prompts and my devotional plans I have noticed my attitude has been a lot lighter. I am less irritable, more joyful and can handle stress better; most days. I obviously fail some weeks but you guys, the difference is noticeable.
Just like my post that featured K’Pure Naturals this post is in no way sponsored by YouVersion. I have been loving how my days have turned around since making an effort to start it off right and this app has helped immensely. Even if I don’t get to it some mornings it has made it super easy for me to pick it up in the afternoon or evening since I’m usually checking messages those times anyway.
Nothing beats having the real thing in your hand but for now, this is helping me get a little more light into my day.
What about you? Do you have an app that you love that helps kick off your day?
