Local Love: Holiday Beauty with Elate Clean Cosmetics + Giveaway {Local Love/Beauty}

December 23, 2016 CLEAN BEAUTY, ETHICAL/LOCAL FASHION, FASHION & BEAUTY, Uncategorized

It has been a long journey to switch my life over to a more clean living. Because this tends to cost more money I have chosen to slowly make my way through it. Almost a year ago I had the pleasure of going to a local pop-up shop at Little Mountain Shop in Vancouver where Elate Cosmetics was all set up. It was love at first, application? Anyway since then my makeup bag as been overtaken by all things Elate.

Last weekend Tamara from Discovering Parenthood and me got together for a fun little photo shoot to show off some holiday looks you can achieve with Elate products. I have never done a collaboration with another blogger and it was a lot of fun! Collaboration, not competition ladies, am I right?! We were both up early to get ready together at my place and then head out and shoot.

Here is our before. Can you tell we are two tired mamas in the morning?

The morning reminded me of those girl nights when you all arrive at one person’s house and all get ready together. You know those nights? Those are far behind me now but it was such a great reminder of those younger days. It was also interesting to see how Tamara started her face and how I started mine. I alway start with foundation first while Tamara started with her eyes.

I love how with makeup you can play around and match it to your personality. Here is Tamara’s after. Isn’t she stunning!!

For more information on what products Tamara used to create her look head over to her post for all the deets!

Now for mine! I actually wasn’t going to use eyeshadow for my look as I’m more of a bolder eyeliner type and less eyeshadow but I went for it. Tis the season right!

Get the look:
Face: Elate “Fairest” Foundation and loose powder Veiled Elation in “Glowing”
Eyes: Elate Essential Mascara, Eyeliner in “Origin” shadows in “Rebirth” & “Rebel”
Cheeks: Universal Creme “Little Love” and Universal Creme “Wonder Highlight”
Lips: I actually mixed two colors together “Grace” and “Wild” lipsticks.

“At Elate Cosmetics, our mission is to care for each other, our communities, and our world. Through healthy ingredients, sustainable practices, and wellness minded goals, we strive to build confidence through kindness, and allow you to create your own standard of beauty.”

Thank you, Elate and thank you to Tamara for such an awesome morning creating our standard of beauty together!

Elate is offering ONE reader who enters that Tamara and I are running, a chance to win a $50.00 Gift Card. Enter below. Contest ends January 2nd, 2017. Good Luck friends!!

This would be a great way to start your switch over to more clean and Eco-friendly cosmetics.

    I would like to be adventurous and try the Elate Liquid Eyeliner in gold. I am anxious to the Creme Revealer concealer also. I love that these products are all clean makeup and contain ingredients like coconut oil and essential oils!

    I'd love to try their eye colors – I'm allergic to most makeup so clean and natural could be the way to go! Love the subtleness of the "sweet" pressed eye color!
