Can you believe that Halloween is only three weeks away? Most years we are scrambling to find a costume for each of our children about a week before. Not this year however! With the help of Value Village we set aside a day to round up all the costumes early! This would also be a great time of year to stock up that tickle trunk if you have one.
We love thrifting and VV Boutique, as we like to call it, is always one of our top stops. Did you know that each year Value Village helps keep 650 MILLION, yes MILLION pounds of used goods out of landfills? This impact is huge and something that I can completely get behind.
Before we left for the store we got our kids to look at one of the flyers that came in the mail.
They were to choose what they wanted to be and we would replicate that at Value Village second hand, if possible.
David at the time picked Pikachu, Abigail a Ninja and Elizabeth decided on Bat Girl.
This was such a fun way to get the kids involved as well in getting creative in recreating a look for cheaper.
The kids had a blast choosing and David ended up changing his mind to being Bumble Bee from Transformers. The only thing we haven’t been able to find yet is the mask but we are going to check back frequently for it. My husband and I are still on the fence as well with what we are wanting to dress up as. I was hoping for Mrs Grey and Mc.Dreamy! Abigail would like me to be a Ninja with her but I’m not sure if you can be pregnant and a ninja?
Here are the end results!
Have you picked out your costumes yet? I would love to hear what you are going as!
PS: They are having a 50% off sale of all books from October 12th- 13th!
