Black, pitch black surrounded me at every side. My heart races with fear and excitement as I speed faster and faster down this black abyss. Suddenly, I see a glimmer of light and I know that I will emerge any second. My feet touch the water first and then I’m laughing with the purest childlike joy. I run back towards the Black Hole saying to myself, “I wanna do that again!”
This is one of my best memories as a child from one glorious afternoon at Splashdown Water Park in Tsawwassen, BC.
This past Monday we packed up some yummy food, towels, bathing suites, sunscreen, and water and stayed most of the afternoon playing, eating, relaxing and off to slide again. We must have done this about 3 times during our 6-hour stay.
|I’ve had SUCH a craving for vinegar the past week! Craving satisfied.|
Splashdown Water Park is the perfect place for a family day. It was one of our summer bucket list activities for this year and we wanted to make sure actually made it because this year is their last year. Splashdown has been open for 33 years and sadly are closing their doors after this summer.
The reason why we love it so much as a family is because it is closer to home than Cultus and Bridal Falls and it is a little easier on our wallets. Having just small kiddos ages, 6, 4 & 3, we don’t need all the bells and whistles that Cultus has, right now at least.
Coming home satisfied and tired is always a sign of a kick ass day. Our youngest fell asleep on the way home and we just placed him in his crib and he slept right till morning.
We are all looking forward to returning one more time this summer as we received some 2 for 1’s on our way out.
Do you have any great memories from Splashdown at all? I would love to hear them below. I read ALL comments!
