Before I became a parent I read and read and read countless books and forums on how to grow your child to not be a picky eater. Feed them lots of new foods as the grow and when they get older they should have a love for most foods. I also said I would never feed my child McDonalds either, enter hysterical laughing now!
The thing about parenting is
1) You think you know everything before you have kids, what they will eat, how they will be obedient in grocery stores and that they will sleep through the night if you follow steps 1-3.
2) Each child is different. What worked for one will not work for another.
3) This one is the important one. You have NO idea how sleep deprivation will lead you through that drive thru more than you would have liked in one week.
Because we had our children very close together and all the while my husband was going through job changes and school we had a lot on our hands and I wasn’t about to fight my kids making new and exciting meals each day. I was in total survival mode. What am I kidding, I still am!
Now we are stuck wanting to get the proper nutrition into our children’s bodies for growth and building their immunity up as well. I try and I try to make something a little different but noses are turned up and this tried, frustrated mama feels like throwing in the towel.
These days we have so many unique ways to add or should I say, disguise adding in a little extra nutrition to our children’s meals. One of those ways is………
A brand new company called, Seedibles a company based in New Westminster, Canada, BC. #Ilovelocal! Melissa the owner started making this product to maximize the nutritional content of all her son’s meals. She also wanted a no sugar, all natural way to do it.
By adding Seeibles into her son’s meals she was giving him meals and snacks with added fiber, protein, omega 3 fats, iron and vitamin B12. Ummmmm wow! What parents or caregiver wouldn’t want to do the same?
The first one we tried was the CinnaWow! Which include Flax Seeds, Cinnamon, Hemp Seeds, Amaranth, and Quinoa. I sprinkled it on top of some grapes as a snack. I was asked for seconds! The following day I added it to a smoothie and it was gone in a flash! I have even sprinkled some on my yogurt when having an afternoon snack.
CinnaWow! is great with oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes, mixed with peanut butter or on top of fruit.
Next, I tried the Quinoa Cool! This one includes Flax Seeds, Nutritional Yeast, Hemp Seeds, Quinoa, Amaranth, and Paprika.
Quinoa Cool! is great on more savory type meals like pasta, pizza or tacos. I added it to our stir-fry. The kids had no idea and neither did the hubby!
