1.) Vancouver Island
It was a lot of fun going back to where Jon and I got married and where he proposed. It was even better because we got to show our children. Abigail and Elizabeth could recall some of the spots that they have seen on our wedding video. I love the Island. I never wanted to come back after we served the summer at Qwanoes in 09′ but Jon and I both felt that God was calling us back to Aldergrove.
2.) Published again
It really is such a great encouragement when your writing gets selected else where. I never really know if people are reading or enjoying what I am writing most of the time, except when a few selected people have personally told me, and it means so much to me! I love submitting to Good Mother Project because I love the community that they have created. I feel the most welcomed there, (as far as an online community goes), as a writer and mother. You can check out my piece here.
I am so glad that we have been blessed so far, with three beautiful children. My heart does still ache for a fourth but I am trusting God more so on that area. I love Thursdays because not only do I get to meet with my ladies coffee group but it also means that I only have two kiddos are home. It is a lot more quiet and these two get along better I find. Elizabeth likes to take on the mother role with David and reads to him and sees if he needs anything, all day pretty much. I’m glad I had my camera by me to capture this moment between the two of them.
4.) My Husband
Alright, I know that I must have used this one a few times but I do not care. He has been my rock this past year as I slipped into my depression and as I still have my days and relapses. He will do the laundry, cook, clean and play with the kids. This is all on top of running a children’s ministry at our church and being a soccer coach. Blessed am I for the love he pours out for me.
5.) Finishing the second Narnia book
We finally completed The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe last week. One part of the reading was that we would write down new words and Abigail would draw on the back what it means. This was a great learning tool for her! We have now moved onto The Horse and His Boy. It is definitely a more difficult read for Abigail but so far she is enjoying it, as am I!
