1.) A peaceful drive
There are many days when I have to run either Abigail to school, get the van to the hubby, or do some errands with these two. And most of the time it’s chatter, chatter, chatter. However they have been starting to feel under the weather lately so they actually fell asleep! Ahhhhhh peace. The quiet was soo very refreshing.
2.) Gas prices
I was able to fill up at 89.9 in Aldergrove last week. Saved about $20.00 when I filled up. Yawhoooo! We have been going through gas like crazy because of Jon’s commute to Abbotsford twice a week for school, so being able to save was such a blessing!
3.) The Lord provides!
I already have some pretty important gear all set for May! I purchased a pair of new trekking boots that are amazing! Then during our care group when I was sharing my excitement with all of them that I will be going, BAM, we headed downstairs to the hosts home and I then had a pack, a compression bag and a sleeping pad!!! Amen!
4.) Growing As a Parent
As parents I think we consistently have to keep growing. Our children go through so many different phases and we have to adapt how we parent with each stage and with each child! On Tuesday night Jon and I headed to our church to what we call, SouthRidge University to a workshop on “Discipline without Damage” by Vanessa Lapointe and instructed by Rebecca Mitchell. Boy parenting is hard work! haha. Which is what I whispered into Jon’s ear as the workshop went on. If you are interested in other courses that SouthRidge is holding check out the website here. The two other courses that are being offered this winter semester are: Anxiety in Children and Adolescence and Discipleship at Home.
Some days I say to myself, “Is anyone even reading this?” I do blog mostly for myself but I also do it to inspire, encourage and hopefully support others. I have been blessed this week by three individuals that have either come up to me or emailed me telling me how much a blessing my blog is. It feels nice to be on the other side of the encouragement some times!
I was also able to finally hand out those encouragement cards with the gift cards from Tim’s in them to some mama’s on Wednesday. One mama had no idea how to respond and the other asked if she could give me a hug! She had two littles with her and was expecting a third.
Don’t forget that if you would like to see more people being blessed, please consider donating to the #kindnessmovement. For a disclaimer, in case anyone was wondering, I do put my own money into each package each week but with YOUR help I can make the packages go further by adding more food or goodies by supporting local companies and those companies that are helping to empower others globally.
And if you are a company that would like to get on board and partner with me please give me an email at email@example.com
If you would like to donate:
What are YOU thankful this week?!!
