1.) Great Gear
When we first started having children we bought a lot of our clothing second hand and not great quality. It wasn’t until we hiked Tea Pot Hill in Chilliwack when Abigail was still very tiny that we decided that, that was it, we were going to invest in proper outer wear. Abigail was pretty frozen on that hike and we vowed never again. We choose mostly MEC for our outdoor gear because of it’s ethically sourced making, amazing quality and with every purchase a percentage is donated to the environment. My hubby, Jon has a great eye in finding online sales when the clearance happens.

My application to travel in May has been approved! I literally fell to the ground in praise! My kids thought it was the strangest thing but it was all I could do. I have been waiting seven years to return!
3.) Getting a family day
Life has been way too busy for us lately. We haven’t been able to spend quality time together and you could definitely feel it in our home. We checked out Blackie Spit Park in Surrey and had the greatest time! I wrote a post about it earlier this week which you can check out here in case you missed it.
4.) A Surprise Sleep in
On Tuesday Jon poked me and said, “Shannon, it’s 9:40!” “NO WAY,” I responded. We had slept till almost 10am! I don’t think I have done that since I was a teenager. Our kids are our alarm clock but this morning both the youngest slept in that late and our oldest went downstairs and turned on Netflix for herself.
5.) Fast, but blessed visit
A very dear friend of mine was in town and was able to spend a few days with us. It is always a pleasure when we are together. She has seen me through some of my darkest moments and greatest victories.
What are you thankful this week? Please leave a comment I love reading them!
