I feel blessed and refreshed as I sit here and reflect on the past weekend. I had the pleasure of attending our ladies retreat, Tarnish to Shine through my church. It was even more special because my mom joined me. We have not had a chance to hang out just the two of us in a very long time. Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson was the speaker and she did an amazing job. A little intense at times but it just showed her passion and love for the Lord all the more. Oh and the food was amazing! I would highly suggest attending a retreat if you can the food alone is worth it.
One thing she talked about was getting to the place where we can dream again. Some of us have had a harder life than most with brokenness, heartache, sin, rebellion, unforgiveness, loss and so on. The enemy uses these things in our past or even in our present state to whisper in our hearts that we are not good enough. That the Lord could never use a person like you, one so tarnished and broken. Those are lies and if you were to take a look at the bible the Lord will use exactly those types of people to do wondrous things. God does have great things for us in our life. He knows our hearts like no one else. He created us, YOU, for a purpose that no one else can fulfill. Isn’t that amazing?! But here is where my dilemma comes in, WHAT is my purpose? What are my dreams? I mean, I do have dreams and hopes but which of those are mine and which of those are destined by God? So that is my next journey friends, daring to dream again, that I am good enough to do God’s work. To not listen to all the lies that tell me that I am not because let me tell you, they are there frequently. A few that I am working on that have come up a few times in my life are: writing a book about my journey, blogging, to live in a community rich in fellowship, returning to India and, becoming a speaker. I once envisioned myself being like Laura-Lynn Thompson, attending women’s retreats and encouraging ladies through the story God has written for me but I have always thought that I am not good enough of a writer, of a speaker, of a person to do something like that.
But for today, I am thankful that I have the ability to dare to dream in this way. That I am healthy, loved, not only from my family and friends but by God and relishing in the fact that I AM GOOD ENOUGH and so are YOU!
And our #couplie for this week which I am thinking it might be my fav one yet!
Happy Friday eve y’all! What are some of your dreams? Has it been a while since you dared to dream? Well I am challenging you to dare along with me.
