Alright, so I am determined to get caught up on my blogging! My new business venture with Plexus Worldwide has taken over a little bit which I am alright with as I try and balance everything out.
I remember the day we found out we were pregnant with Abigail like a vivid dream. We were so young and had no idea what we were doing. Makes me giggle picturing the two of us in that A-Frame house and me almost in tears because I thought the test was negative. The Lord however told me to look again and there was the second faintest line you ever did see! I was thrilled and Jon was scared, lol.
Before we got married we discussed what we wanted to do about contraceptive. My body has never agreed with any form of birth control so we decided to let the Lord decide. We surrendered that part of our lives and trusted in His timing and sovereignty to open or close my womb. And He had graciously opened it and our baby girl Abigail was growing.
1) Our first baby.
There is nothing like the first time becoming a parent. All the newness of pregnancy symptoms that you either love or hate, and all the excitement and anticipation as your belly increasingly grows each month. Then when the day finally comes it is like nothing else, nothing! My labor with Abigail was my hardest. I had hypertension and low amniotic fluid. I had to be induced a few days early of my due date at 6am with having next to no sleep the night before. I fought the labor the entire time but by the grace of God I kept progressing and did not need to have an epidural which was what I hoped for. I remember the nurse telling me that it could take me 2 hours to push my baby girl out and my thoughts to that, “hell no!” So I gave it every ounce of strength that the Lord provided me with and out she came 20 mins later. However she wasn’t breathing. It was the scariest thing, but Jon and I just prayed and our baby girl was OK within a few minutes. I still do not know what had caused it but from what I remember the nurses and doctor decided it must have just been the shock of a fast delivery.
2) The Adventurer in her
Abigail loves to adventure and explore. She is extremely bright and curious. This is why I love homeschooling her. One, she is easy cause she loves to learn and sitting and learning doesn’t bother her and two I get to see her wheels turning and learning while I teach. She loves to climb rocks, which gets me a little paranoid most times when we are out adventuring but I’ve learned just to stay really close to her and let her explore.
3) Her tender heart
Abigail has always been the most obedient of the bunch. Her love language is quality time. She would rather do a puzzle, play a game, do crafts etc. with me or Jon rather than cuddle. Although she does like her cuddle time at night before bed. A few years back when we would snuggle before bed I started asking her, “What was your favorite part of the day,” and now she’s the one that asks me that each night. Her response is usually, “spending time with you.” And to end the night she says, “I love you as much as Jesus loves you.”
4) Her love for dress up
Abigail LOVES to dress up and to create her own characters and props! She will take a toilet paper roll and some paper and create it into a pair of glasses or anything else her heart desires! When we go to recycle something she always exclaims, “CAN I HATE THAT? I can make something!.”
5) She’s old enough to really appreciate her birthday party
We started doing themed birthday’s since Abigail’s first birthday. It has become a tradition in our home that we plan on continuing until we just can’t do it anymore, lol. This year Abigail was really able to understand what she wanted and appreciate what we did, from the banner to the cake! She had so much fun this year playing with all who came and sending them off with their own “puppy.”
Sorry for the water marks! Forgot to change my settings when I exported, haha! And right now I am just glad that I actually got this done to go back and change it!
Happy Friday eve y’all!
