I’m not going to add it to my top five but I am thankful for the break in the weather. I always appreciate the rain and gloomy days after we have had such amazing sunshine. It makes me extra grateful for the sun and the rain reminds me of refreshing and renewing the earth. Just like we need every once in a while.
1.) Sunrise Sessions
A while back this photographer (she’s amazing!) inspired me to do my own sunrise session. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t have to reschedule so I made a contest out of it. The original winner wasn’t able to make it so next down the line was actually a fellow photographer as well, Kim Halcro. You can check her out here. It worked out perfectly because she recently offered to do our family photos which I am pretty excited about!
The best thing about her being a photographer as well is that she wasn’t opposed to getting down into places or taking chances on poses! And if she saw a spot she really liked, said it, which I loved. Her husband was such a trooper as well, thanks Aaron! It was cold but the morning was beautiful. Thanks Kim and Aaron for such a great, beautiful session! Keep an eye out on my photography blog for the full session coming soon at: http://giftoflifephotography3.weebly.com/
2.)Hearing my mom say she is sleeping better!
I posted last night about The Pink Drink and you can find that here. My mom slept through the night the other night and honestly that was like gold to me hearing that. I don’t think anyone can really understand what it is like to be sleep deprived most of your life than finally get relief from that unless you have experienced it yourself. I was extremely thankful to hear this yesterday.
We usually use Mondays as our adventure family day and this week we headed to Cascade Falls in Mission, BC. The suspension bridge isn’t open yet so the path that way was locked up, which was a huge bummer but it just means we will have to come back! We instead just walked along the lower section along the rocks. I remembered to pack my tripod along this time and was soooooo thankful for it! We had a little mini session with it.
|This is my all time favourite picture of us! It shows us in our “real” state. No makeup, hiking boots, runners and a hat!|
4.) Our family size
Lately I have been really focusing on what the size of our family is right now. It is easy for me to think ahead at the possibility of a fourth but at this very moment I am thankful to have three beautiful, healthy littles. They are a hand full most days but they fill my heart even more.
5.) Abigail is turning 5
Where did the time go? Rewind please! Time is so fleeting. Each day is another day gone. Another day we have the opportunity to enjoy it or waste it. No day is mundane, it is a gift. The eyes of a child really do know that more than we can grasp. I have been reflecting on my daughter Abigails’ first 5 years of her life and who she has grown into be. I love just watching and really trying to know who my children are, their talents, needs, what makes them who they are!
Happy Friday eve y’all! What did you find that you were most thankful about this week?
